Rambutan Pop

Each level cooks a real dish from Malaysia, Thailand or the Philippines — nasi lemak, laksa, mango sticky rice, halo-halo and more. Match three of its ingredients to clear them, and every match on a layered cell peels one layer off. When the last layer is gone, the finished dish drops onto the board. It cannot be moved: clear the ingredients beneath it until it lands on the golden counter at the bottom, and the order is served.

Line up four for a four-leaf clover that clears a row or a column, make an L or a T for one that clears both, and line up five for a star anise that takes every ingredient of one kind. The clock keeps running through a cascade, so a good chain is time well spent.

Rambutan Pop is still being tuned. The playtest runs in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install and no account. Levels unlock one after another, exactly as they will in the finished game, so how far you get and how long it takes you is what tells us whether a level is fair.

While you play, the game records anonymous gameplay statistics: which level, whether you won, how much time was left, how many moves you made and how long you took over them. It does not record your name, contact details or IP address. You can switch recording off on your first visit, or at any time from the Feedback button, which is also where you can tell us what you think. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
